Learning English together

Here is a section we you can participate in many ways.

This is a section where all of us – you, me and just about anyone us – can participate. It may take a while to get going, but hopefully we will be able to feature many short items from visitors here in Thailand, of course, but also from around the world.

Actually, you can begin immediately by joining our twitter steam. We will use it to announce what we are doing each day, to make suggestions, define new words and link to interesting and useful sites for language learners. You are free to join in to ask questions, make observations and suggestions or to help us answer questions.

Project 1: Learning word-forms together

Our first project deals with those troublesome English language verb-forms, including tense, voice, direct and indirect speech and conditionals. I have published a book on the subject which tries to help, in the simplest possible way, to understand and use these forms. We will make use of that book, but our project is designed to bring the concepts to life through short videos.

You will be surprised at how easy some of the most complex verb forms are to understand through a simple video taken from a website like youtube or one that we make ourselves.

Local news

We will also be happy to accept news from outside “reporters”. Perhaps you have interesting news from your school, your neighbourhood or your city. Write it using the standard news style in 350 words or less and send it to us, together with one or more photos if you wish. If it’s good, we’ll publish it. Contact me at:
