You have until this Sunday (July 12) to shop for great bargains at Made in Thailand 2009, the country's mega shopping fair now running daily from 10am-9pm at the Impact Muang Thong Thani.

This year's fair features nearly 5,000 booths spread across the Impact Halls 1-6 and Challenger Halls 1-3 with the spotlight on Thailand's major industries, including food and beverages, furniture and home decorations, fashion and apparel, health and beauty, auto parts and accessories, electrical and electronic appliances and Otop merchandise. Most of the products and merchandise are on offer at a great discount of up to 80 percent.

Special spaces are also allocated for the popular shopping streets, namely fashion streets such as Bo Bae, Sampheng, Baiyoke, Indra Square and JJ Mall; wood street of Bang Pho, home decor street of Ban Tawai, and auto accessories street of Varachak, among others. There is also a section highlighting unique products and handicrafts from the five provinces in the far South of Thailand.

"The fair offers a great bargain time for shoppers," said Kornpak Meesittia, chairman of the Handicraft Industry Club of the Federation of Thai Industries. "Most producers are offering their new products at half price, with some offering an even bigger discount." Kornpak also brings decorative items made of teak, bamboo and MDF for panelling, wall covering, curtain and shelves from her company to sell at big discount.

"You don't have to wait for BIG & BIF to buy gifts and decorative items," said Jirabool Vittayasing, president of the Thai Gifts, Premiums & Decorative Association. "Members of our association are displaying their export quality products in over 200 booths here."

Fairgoers will also be entertained at concerts featuring Boy, Tui and Pas from True Academy Fantasia; Singto, Dew and Ruj from The Stars; Tattoo Colour, Ponglang Sa-on, Sao Mard Megadance, Pi Saderd, Kratae Fourteen, Pornchita Na Songkhla and more. There are daily lucky draws plus other fun activities. RT
