King gives cash to flood-hit schools

His Majesty the King has granted 10 million baht in cash assistance to 50 schools in 10 central provinces that were affected by last year's flood crisis.

Khunying Amporn Meesuk, who chairs the educational assistance department of the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under the Royal Patronage, said His Majesty has been concerned about the affected schools in the 10 flood-hit central provinces.

The King has instructed the foundation to provide 200,000 baht in cash assistance to each of five schools in each province.

The provinces are Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom and Bangkok.

Khunying Amporn handed the 200,000-baht grant to five schools in Ayutthaya yesterday. They were Wat Sampundit School in Uthai district, Pracha Samakkhi School in Muang district, Chom Surang Uppatham School in Muang district, Wat Phra Khao School in Bang Ban district and Wat Huawiang School in Sena district.
