It’s Monday and that means the students at Sriwittayapaknam school are speaking English. Once again the video anchors are Nong Grace and Nong Tip and today’s topic of conversation is transportation.

How do you go to school?

As we saw last week, the students and teachers of Sriwittayapaknam School are quite enthusiastic about the Ministry of Education’s “Speak English day” project. Their day is Monday and this week they have decided on a new topic: transportation.

"Very good!," says this little teacher of her classmate's performance.

This is a great topic because all students come to school in one way or another. Car, van, motorcycle, bus, bicycle, and walking (or on foot) are typically the ways students around the world come to school. Are all of these mentioned in the video.

Neither Nong Grace nor Nong Tip seem to be feeling very well this week. Listen closely for what they say their health problems are.

Notice that the students at Sriwittayapaknam have obviously been working on their pronunciation. At the end of the video listen closely to see how many of the student pronounce the final “sh” in English correctly.

One of the most impressive aspects to the Sirwittayapaknam project is the student participation. They are clearly the stars and they enjoy taking part. They are also getting more and more involved in planning the video. This week Nong Grace and Nong Tip even made some last minute changes to the script.

The term break is coming, but Nong Grace insists on doing one more video. We’ll have to wait to find out what subject she chooses. There might also be a term break video or two.
