American progressive rock group Dream Theater is making its third appearance in the Kingdom next week. Dubbed "Dream Theater: A Dramatic Tour of Events Live in Bangkok 2012", the concert will kick off at 8pm on May 8 in the Thunder Dome, Muang Thong Thani.

This time round expect the 27-year-old metal quintet to treat Thai fans to a wide variety of sounds from its latest album, A Dramatic Turn of Events. It's their 11th studio album and is said to be melodically driven and to tell a story.

The group's current line-up comprises James LaBrie (lead vocals), John Petrucci (guitars), Jordan Rudess (keyboards), John Myung (bass) and Mike Mangini, the new drummer.

The opening act will be Andy Mckee, an American fingerstyle guitar player who is considered among the world's finest acoustic guitar soloists.
