After shooting two children films in the Northeast, Bin Banluerit has set his sights higher for his next venture. The director is now shooting Rupu Rupee (a pun on the Indian currency) in India, and his production has generated excitement and attention of the local media, with at least one Hindi-language newspaper giving it prominent coverage.

Rupu Rupee is a children's film, and besides Thai actors, Bin has cast a number of Indian kids in this film about friendship and adventure beyond language and frontiers.

One of the locations where the film was shot is Bodh Gaya, at the Mahabodhi Temple in the state of Bihar.

And even though it's a place full of hardship and poverty, the Thai crew aims to bring back good memories of the country and its people.

Rupu Rupee is due for release later this year.
