Student violence leaves two dead
Another senseless incident of suspected student violence has left two Bangkok bus passengers dead and two injured.
The shooting took place on the outbound Vibhavadi-Rangsit highway when students ambushed the bus at a bus stop.
The suspected target was Wanchai Thongsongkaew, a first-year student at Thaivichitsilp Art School who was one of the two killed. The other was a 48-year-old woman Yupa Prai-ngam
The shooting also injured Kalsinee Jianjitpoo, an 18-year-old female passenger, and Chaisit Thaimuang, 22, a vocational school student.
Wanchai's Thaivichitsilp Art School in Chatuchak has been ordered to close for three days to head off possible reprisal attacks.
Police suspect the shooting was carried out by students from a rival school, most likely Don Muang Technical School. Both schools have a history of school rivalry.

Don Muang Technical School director Weeradej Luenghiran said the school needs more time to investigate if its students were involved.
"We aren't sure if our students were involved. So we aren't suspending any classes to avoid affecting students," he said.
Metropolitan Police Bureau deputy commissioner Pisit Pisutsak said a review of surveillance camera footage showed six people were involved.
He said about 20 people would be questioned to help police identify the attackers.
Ruengchai Chaisopa, Mrs Yupa's husband, said drastic action must be taken to end violence between rival schools.
"I told my wife to be careful. The route isn't safe because students attack each other," he said.
Education Minister Suchart Thada-Thamrongvech yesterday gave the Private Education Commission and the Vocational Education Commission three months to end school feuding.
He said agencies and school executives would face drastic action if they failed to address the problem.
Permanent secretary for education Sasihara Pichaicharnnarong said she would organise a programme for students of 10 violence-prone state and private vocational colleges to study in the same classes, to ease tension and promote friendship.
