3,000 reds expected outside court

Police are expecting about 3,000 supporters of the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) to gather at the Criminal Court on Thursday, when a decision is due on whether bail will be revoked for Jatuporn Prompan and 23 other leaders.

Police would begin setting up security checkpoints and preparing other security measures this evening, reports said on Wednesday.

The court has ordered that there should be no unauthorised entry to the court premises and that UDD supporters are not allowed to open up stalls or sell anything in the court area.

Police have advised motorists to avoid using Ratchadaphisek road, if possible, on Thursday because there could be heavy traffic congestion.

The red-shirt rally is expected to conclude tomorrow evening, according to police.
