Malaysia is a country where a spectrum of cultures and traditions continues to thrive in harmony.

Announced on Discovery Channel last month to coincide with the 55th anniversary of that country's attaining its independence, Eye On Malaysia: Intimate Journeys is a five-part anthology showcasing that nation's rich culture, history and heritage via compelling stories told through the lenses of local film-makers. Each 30-minute documentary features inspiring subjects and stunning scenes from a bygone era. These stories journey into the heart and soul of Malaysia, covering the challenges of preserving a venerable old printing press in Malacca, the ancient art of woodcarving, the practices of indigenous tribes, the intricate process of creating a throne fit for royalty and the history of the railway that linked Malaysia to Singapore.
The series gets its Thailand premiere Sunday at 9am on Discovery (TrueVisions 20).
