ANG THONG - Three high school students were lucky to escape being bitten by a highly venomous snake that had hidden itself under the seat of their motorcycle, reports said.
Police said they received a report that school students needed help to remove a snake from their motorcycle, parked near the Chao Praya River bank in Muang district. When police and a rescue official arrived at the scene, the boys were spraying water at their motorcycle.
They explained that a snake was hiding inside their motorcycle, but they could no longer see it. They said they intended to head back home, but fortunately spotted the snake before they got on the bike.
Police said the rescue officer spent a lot of time revving up the motorcycle engine in a bid to scare the snake out of its hiding place and away from the bike.
After a while, a two metre Russell's Viper poked its head out from under the back seat. The snake had crawled up under the seat, police said.
"The rescue official did everything he could, but the snake wouldn’t move,” a police officer said. “Finally he was able to hook it out with a stick.
