Science and Technology Minister Plodprasop Surasawadi, as chairman of the Water and Flood Management Commission, will begin a three-day trip to eight provinces on Friday to see the flood situation first hand, government spokeswoman Sansanee Nakpong said.
The eight provinces are Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Ayutthaya, Chai Nat, Nakhon Sawan, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Sukhothai.
During the trip, from Sept 21-23, Mr Plodprasop will be briefed on the progress in the setting up of forward units to give early warning of possible flooding.
He will also meet provincial governors to see if they need any support in terms of materials and equipment.
