The 34th Bangkok International Gifts (BIG) and Bangkok International Houseware (BIH) Fair takes place from Oct 16 to 21 at Bitec exhibition and convention centre on Bang Na-Trat Road.

Organised by the Department of International Trade Promotion in collaboration with seven national associations that specialise in lifestyle products, the theme for this year's fair is "Heart of Design & Lifestyle: A Showcase of Asean".

The fair will feature 1,600 booths offering goods from more than 600 producers in Thailand, Asean, as well as other countries. Halls 103-105 of Bitec, designated the Gift and Souvenir Zone, will feature clothes, ornaments and toys for the festive season, while Hall 106, labelled House Decorations and Handicraft Zone, will offer perfumes, soaps, textiles, office stationery, decorations and kitchen utensils.

It will feature an "International Pavilion" highlighting design where products bear the signature of countries they are sourced from, while Halls 101-102 will showcase products from new-generation designers. Also on the cards are activities and exhibitions such as "Design Forum", "Top Otop Goods for World Markets" and one showcasing Thai products accorded with the DEmark design excellence award.

The BIG+BIH Fair opens 10am-6pm during Oct 16-19 when admission is by invitation only, while the public is welcome on Oct 20-21 from 10am-9pm.
