ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT

Following the huge success of the embroidery workshops held last year, famous French embroiderer Elisabeth Roulleau will return to Alliance Francaise to share her knowledge and add an advanced training session to the programme.

This year, the professional designer/embroiderer will lead a traditional workshop on Oct 29-31, a haute couture embroidery workshop on Nov 1-3, and an advanced workshop on Oct 30-Nov 3.

Eager to share her art and passion, Roulleau tailors her courses to her students' specific needs, helping them to discover the art of combining and enhancing fabrics, and guiding them so their ideas can take shape and their designs come to life. Trained at the famous couture and design embroidery school Ecole Lesage in Paris, Roulleau has taught embroidery techniques at France's fine arts school Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, and has conceived haute couture embroidery for several fashion houses such as those of Hermes, Chanel and Dior.

Going from Madrid to Barcelona, London to Bangkok, Taiwan to Pakistan and Croatia, the embroiderer leads workshops, making dream designs come true, while sharing her passion and a very special aspect of French culture.

All workshops will be conducted in French, English and Italian at Alliance Francaise's International Art Centre on Sathon Road. The fee is 6,500 baht for the traditional embroidery class, 7,900 baht for the haute-couture embroidery and 8,100 baht for the advanced embroidery.
