'Far Cry 3' Facebook app offers mock alternative to vintage holiday postcards

What's the definition of insanity? It's probably not uploading a photo of yourself buried in the sand next to Vaas, the nutter in charge of FarCry 3's chaotic islands of fun and death. No, not insane, but a little bit silly, and something you can do right now.

There are options to tint or blur the resulting image, shove it onto Facebook as a wall post or cover photo, email it to your friends or boss, or print it off for posterity.

And, if you do print it off, why not jot down the Far Cry 3 release date next to it? It's what Uncle Ubisoft would want you to do. November 29 in European and Australasian regions, the next day in the UK, and December 4 for North American archipelago wreckers in waiting.

That might not be such a bad idea, considering the absolute truckload of big name action games due before then, from the just released Borderlands 2 through Resident Evil 6, Dishonored, 007 Legends, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Assassin's Creed III, Halo 4 and Black Ops II.
