It was a day for celebrities and foodies galore when Siam Paragon's Food Passage on the fourth floor marked its second anniversary with a "Taste the Taste of Food Passage" event that combined great food with extravagant performances. Jointly hosting the event were the 21 restaurant outlets on the fourth floor, offering delicacies to guests wandering along the walkway.

On arrival, guests were warmly welcomed by the management team, led by Pasinee Limatibul, Katevalee Napasab and Chadatip Chutrakul.

The evening started with celebrities revealing their favourite dishes, starting with ML Parson Svasti, a well-known food critic who writes under the pseudonym "Pinto Tao Lek" (Small Food Carrier). ML Parson said that in his wide experience, the food that has most won his heart is Paradise Dynasty's siao long pao (steamed bun) with eight fillings in eight colours, especially foie gras and truffle filling, served on one plate. This Chinese restaurant from Singapore has just opened its first Thailand branch at Siam Paragon.

Businessman Vorasith Issara, who likes to dine out with his family, chose Japanese food, especially from Honmono Sushi Japanese Restaurant. He ordered a set of 12 sushi items made of fresh ingredients imported from Japan.

Meat lovers Nathasedh and Orn-arpa Poonsapmanee agree that the beef noodles at Nua Koo Noodles always satisfy because of the premium-grade beef with a choice of two broths _ original and bone stock.

ML Oranich Kitiyakara went for Thai fusion food, particularly Fai Sor Kam's spaghetti with Thai sausage, a pasta dish with a spicy Thai taste. For Unchisa Vacharaphol, a favourite dinner out with friends is often at Wakyu Yakiniku because of the unlimited premium grade meats in a Japanese-style barbecue buffet.

Poopa Techanarong, the youngest heir to Bonanza Khao Yai, relaxes at Alicious by Al Majlis, opting for its aromatic Moroccan mint tea and fresh homemade cake.

Top socialite MR Srikumrung Yukol Rattakul enjoys shopping and hanging out with friends, and she says you can't go wrong with the ambiance at Midtown Thai Bistro and Wine Bar. The Miracle Grilled Pork Rib goes down nicely with the easy-listening music.

Also specially prepared for this occasion were a variety of spectacular performances, including the time-honoured "art of tea pouring" from Si-Chuan, which has been passed from generation to generation for more than three centuries. The tea was poured from one-metre long pot. Guests also enjoyed the traditional dance in the north of Thailand known as "King Kala".

Another show that raised the pulse with the rhythm of giant Japanese drums was Taiko dance, as did the exotic Moroccan belly dance. A sushi eating contest added a lively touch to the event.

For a moment, the entire fourth floor appeared deserted, though screams from one end indicated the crowds were still there. Most of the guests, as well as the restaurant owners, had rushed over to the stage to watch a mini-concert by superstar Urassaya "Yaya" Sperbund, who proved that she can sing as well as act. The concert continued with singers from the Academy Fantasia TV singing competition mesmerising all with their powerful voices.
