Dems: Questions linger over Yongyuth

Although Yongyuth Wichaidit has resigned his cabinet posts the Democrat Party will continue to push for agencies concerned to establish whether he is still qualified to be an MP, party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said on Sunday.

Mr Abhisit said the Democrats were of the opinion that Mr Yongyuth was no longer qualified to be an MP after the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) ruled that he had breached discipline in the Alpine land case.

The Democrat Party would hold a meeting on Monday to discuss Mr Yongyuth's qualifications which had become questionable.

The prosecution was required to work with the NACC to establish facts for the Constitution Court to make a final decision, he said.

The court's decision would set a precedent for others to follow, he added.
