The Democrat Party is likely to file a motion of no-confidence in the government late this month and the censure debate is expected in mid-November, party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said on Tuesday.
The opposition leader said he could not say at this stage whether the motion would be filed before or after the cabinet reshuffle which is expected to follow Yongyuth Wichaidit's resignation.
Apart from the censure debate, the party would also prepare for a debate when the government delivers its statement on its achievements in its first year in office to the parliament, he said.
Mr Abhisit said the party was likely to file the censure motion late this month and the debate was expected in the middle of next month.
Mr Abhisit said he believed the prime minister did not want a cabinet reshuffle at this time although many people wanted her to do it. He said after one year in office she had begun to have confidence in her cabinet.
Any cabinet reshuffle should bring about improvements in the government's handling of problems involving the economy, natural disasters and corruption. If it did not do this, then it would be better not to make any change, Mr Abhisit said.
