Weekend of wonders

Weekend of wonders

SOCIAL & LIFESTYLE

Fashion people are having one of the busiest weekends in years with two fashion feasts up for both public and private viewing before reaching a climax with Elle Fashion Week next week.

Let's start with a private event for the local fashion circle and selected members of the press _ The 2nd Fashion Field Trip. A collaboration between four leading fashion houses of completely different styles, the event features solo shows from Asava, Kloset, Vickteerut and Issue.

To be held at the Royal Turf Club of Thailand this Saturday, the trip will open with Asava while Kloset, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, will close the event. Although the brands have given the media a sneak preview into some of their autumn/winter 2012 outings during the Bangkok Fashion Society's press preview, the event will mark the first time these collections are premiered as runway shows modelled by top runway luminaries.

And as soon as the after-party hangover is cured, Kloset has to get ready for another runway event the following day. The queen of the vintage femininity clan will for the first time take part in Siam Paragon Kids International Fashion Week, creating a special collection for the show, and we believe all stylish mummies will be praying day and night for designer Mollika Reungkritya to actually launch Kloset for kids. Who wouldn't want to doll up the little darlings with some printed chiffon dress?

To be staged this weekend at Park Paragon, the juvenile style showcase will feature collections by international brands offering children's wear from Guess Kids, US Polo and Play it! However, the leading Thai designers' take on kids' clothes will be sure to steal the show _ be it Tube Gallery, Nov 27, Kloset and also another BFS member, or the only brand in the fashion collective to offer children's wear, Tutti Frutti.
