The defence minister has ordered an inquiry into allegations that Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva dodged military conscription.
ACM Sukumpol Suwanatat said the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy has been ordered to investigate whether former prime minister Abhisit, who is the opposition leader, should be charged with draft evasion.
He expected the panel to be formed within a week and begin working soon after.
The defence minister said it has yet to be decided who will head the inquiry. The panel must also determine if any official was involved and report to the Office of the Ombudsman, he said.
