The Election Commission (EC) has endorsed Niran Praditthakul as an appointed senator to replace Prajit Rojanaphruk, who was disqualified by the Supreme Court's Election Division on Aug 14 for failing to vote in a by-election in Pathum Thani in 2009.
EC secretary-general Phuchong Nutrawong said yesterday the EC had endorsed the nomination submitted by a selection committee chaired by Constitution Court president Wasan Soypisudh. Mr Phuchong said the EC will issue Mr Niran with an official document to certify his status as a senator.
Mr Niran was former deputy secretary-general of the National Anti-Corruption Committee.
