Creative living

Making over tired furniture with just a paintbrush is one of the crafts of Thai artist and art instructor Suppawan Duangsuwan, who will showcase for the first time a collection of 50 painted furniture and decorative items during the "Siam Discovery Beyond The Living" exhibition.

Scheduled for Oct 17 to 23, at Sky Dining, 6th floor of Siam Discovery, the exhibition offers visitors inspiration for furniture painting ideas in sweet, elegant concepts, including decorative rose painting, the artist's signature.

The founder of Suppawan Art Studio, who is famous for her coffin decoration, will also give a decoupage workshop from 1pm to 5pm every day.

The opening is on Oct 17 at 3pm, followed by an auction of two limited-edition decoupage picture frames she created specially in honour of King Rama V and to mark the 150th anniversary of his consort Queen Savang Vadhana, the Queen Grandmother of Thailand.

Proceeds from the auction and from the daily art workshops will be given to the Queen Savang Vadhana Foundation.
