'Battlefield: Bad Company' heading to TV with A-Team style pitch

Battlefield: Bad Company, known for both its banter and its explosive action sequences, is on its way to TV and will transplant its crew of misfit squadmates into a new setting as private sector mercs on the run from their old boss.

As reported by Deadline, the show "follows four renegade soldiers as they exit military life and enter the private sector. But trouble is never far behind as they realize their commanding officer had used them to further the ends of a shadow unit within the government and now wants them dead to cover his tracks."
The plot might not exactly follow that of Bad Company and its sequel -- that of four expendable soldiers being sent deep behind enemy lines in pursuit of WMDs, gold bars, and retirement -- but the same jocular tone would appear to be intact, or at least not entirely ruled out, for a TV audience.
And while the two games weren't too far removed from the unorthodoxy of war films like Kelly's Heroes and Three Kings, it seems the japes of The A-Team shares something in common with the proposed Bad Company.
Game developer DICE has not ruled out a Bad Company 3, instead releasing the more serious Battlefield 3 in 2011, but with the studio's Patrick Bach acting as an executive producer, any TV showing might provide some direction for future games-based installments.
Writing and executive producing is John Eisendrath, who fulfilled similar roles on Alias, Outlaw, and Beverly Hills 90210, while Bach is joined by Electronic Arts man Patrick O'Brien and Doug Robinson of Happy Madison, which is Adam Sandler's production company.
