A man suffering from depression is reported to have cut off his penis and some fingers in Bang Lamung district of Chon Buri province last night.
Sawang Boriboon Rescue Centre in Pattaya was called last night to take a 29-year-old man who had mutilated himself with a knife in his apartment to Bang Lamung hospital.
The man was later identified as Anucha Somkanae, a Buri Ram province native.
Pan Kaebanpraew, the landlady, said that Mr Anucha's girlfriend came home from work and found him covered in blood.
She said his penis, right thumb and index finger had been severed. A blood-stained knife and cutting board were found inside the room.
According to Ms Pan, Mr Anucha was a friendly person. He went to work in South Korea as an industrial technician two years ago. He had suffered severe depression ever since he came back.
