Women's perspectives on show

In spite of the fact that Thai society has opened doors for women to express themselves in almost all aspects, opportunities are still restricted to urban communities, widening the gap between educated women in cities and their underprivileged counterparts in remote areas.

EmpowerWomenon Education photo exhibition will be on show at the Eden Zone, 3rd floor of CentralWorld from tomorrow to Sunday. Admission is free of charge. Call 083-686-1899.

This gap can be attributed to access to education which connects girls in their legal working age with the opportunities they deserve.

With efforts to lower the gap, Plan International (Thailand) is organising an exhibition as part of its "Because I Am A Girl" global campaign to uncover stories and views of girls and women from different backgrounds, who share a common interest in attaching a lot of importance to education as key to work-life progress and opportunities for women in today's rapidly changing world.

Entitled "Empower Women On Education", the photo exhibition presents perspectives and expectations of underprivileged girls in remote areas of the country's northern provinces who are still far short of opportunities to get access to education.

The exhibition will also feature views of educated, successful women who greatly value good education as a tool to build a better quality of life and open doors to a wider world. They said by sharing such self-development opportunities with girls in need, Thai society would have more space for them to live life to the fullest.
