No police partying on Police Day

The police chief has warned the entire police force not to celebrate National Police Day by partying, national police spokesman Pol Maj Gen Piya Uthayo said.

The spokesman, on Thursday, announced the events and timeline of events held by the Royal Thai Police to celebrate National Police Day on Saturday, Oct 13.

He said there will be an award ceremony for police on Friday at 11am, after which the national police chief, Pol Gen Adul Seangsingkeaw, will meet with police who were wounded on duty at the police general hospital.

At 6.30pm the police chief will then welcome the heads of Asean police forces at a banquet to be held at the Plaza Athenee Hotel.

Pol Maj-Gen Piya said other events, held on Saturday, will be religious ceremonies at different buildings at the Royal Thai Police headquarters. In the afternoon, an event would commemorate officers who have lost their lives on the job.

A marching ceremony will be held at the police academy in Sam Pran district in Nakhon Pathom province.

Several charity events will also be held at the Royal Thai Police headquarters on the day.

The police spokesman said to conclude the day, a party will be held at the police social club on Vibhavadi road, starting at  6.30pm.

He warned that the police chief has ordered that prior to this party, no police are allowed to hold their own parties to celebrate their national day.
