After getting away with an alleged 25 mobile phone and tablet thefts, Pornthep Thassanawirun could not escape the law when the 26th attempt was made.
Samut Prakan police arrested the 22-year-old at his house in Muang district on Thursday and seized 15 mobile phones and one tablet.
The arrest followed a complaint by Siriporn Ouisrithanapirom to track down a man on a brown Suzuki motorcycle who pretended to ask her directions, borrowed her Blackberry and then quickly drove away with her phone.
The police found the motorcycle at the house.
They said Mr Pornthep confessed that he had snatched 26 phones and tablets in a little more than a month and sold them to get money to play games at the computer game shops, Pol Maj Gen Thatchai Hongthong, the provincial police chief said.
Police have charged Mr Pornthep with theft.
