Dr Rajan Sankaran, a leading practitioner of homeopathic medicine, will be flying into town next month to give talks at four different venues in Bangkok.
Dr Rajan Sankaran
Homeopathy is a holistic form of alternative and complementary medicine that is gaining popularity all around the world. It works on the idea that the body and mind are so solidly connected that for effective, long-term treatment a good understanding of the patient's disposition and constitution is required. Homeopathic practitioners treat the whole person rather than addressing individual symptoms.
Dr Rajan has more than 30 years' experience in practice and teaching. He has given classes in some 25 countries and has written 15 books on the subject, some of which have been translated into more than 20 languages.
He will be illustrating his upcoming series of talks with footage recorded on video along with photographs as clinical evidence of the effectiveness of homoeopathy in pathological cases. He will also demonstrate via selected cases the conceptual basis of homoeopathy. Cases he has treated which should be of interest to other medical practitioners include instances of auto-immune hepatitis, orbital hemangioma, osteolysis of the bone, severe molluscum in an HIV-positive child, steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome, chronic renal failure, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, depression, rheumatoid arthritis, transverse myelitis, cardiomyopathy and Kostmann's syndrome.
He will speak at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand on Nov 5 from 8pm, at Bumrungrad Hospital's Wellness Centre on Nov 6 from 11.30am, at the India-Thai Chamber of Commerce on the evening of Nov 6, and at the Soroptimist International Club of Bangkok's lunch meeting at the Grand Hyatt Erawan on Nov 7.
A colleague of his, Dr Sudhir Baldota, will be accompanying him on the trip.
