Kirins end campaign without single defeat

SCG Muang Thong United finished the Thailand League 2012 with a 2-2 draw against the BEC Tero Sasana at Thephatsadin Stadium yesterday.

Thailand League champion, SCG Muang Thong United played the full squad, led by Teerasil Dangda and Mario Gjurovski. After only three minutes of the first half, Muang Thong United had the chance to score when Adnan Barakat headed the ball wide, squandering the chance to take the lead.

The match was contested mainly in the mid-field position, where Muang Thong's two foreign players, Gjurovski and Adnan Barakat combined well.

However, the hosts, BEC Tero Sasana scored the first goal when Rangsan Vivatchaichok sent a free-kick to ex-Muang Thong player Nataporn Phanrit, who put the ball into the net to give BEC Tero the lead.

Muang Thong equalised when Gjurovski crossed the ball from the left side and Barakat fired the ball home from the 18 yards. After that, Muang Thong took control of the game and they scored the second goal when Jakkraphan Pornsai passed to Teerasil Dangda, who was fouled by Pisarn Doakmaikaew in the penalty area. The referee pointed to the penalty spot and Teerasil shot truly.

BEC Tero equalised when Rangsan took a corner and Cleiton Silva headed the ball in off the post.

In the 71st minute, Cleiton had another chanced from a free-kick but Kawin cleared it off. BEC Tero had several chances from Cleiton and Gilbert Koomsan but the Muang Thong defence held up.

At PAT stadium, hosts Thai Port FC ended the season with a 2-1 loss to Chonburi FC, who scored twice through

Thiago Cunha in the 12th and 23rd minutes while the Port got the only goal from Steven Robb in the 45th minute.
