Leading luxury watch brand, Omega welcomed the latest James Bond movie, Skyfall, with the launch of its Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Skyfall Limited Edition at Omega boutique at Siam Paragon shopping complex last Tuesday. Joining the launch event were Bond fans, the brand's devoted collectors, celebrities and the media.
Daniel Craig as James Bond in Skyfall .
"Skyfall is James Bond's 23rd adventure with Daniel Craig reprising the role of the world's favourite secret agent for the third time running, and once again, agent 007 wears an Omega Seamaster," said Christophe Viguerie, Omega Thailand managing director. "Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming first introduced Bond to Omega. She described Bond as a naval man and a discreet gentleman of the world, so the Seamaster was the obvious choice.
"Actually, the world's favourite secret agent has been bonded with Omega in many of his missions, " added Viguerie. "This suave spy has been wearing Seamasters since 1995 in Golden Eye, and in the five following films he relied on his timepiece throughout numerous action scenes and daredevil feats. Omega Planet Ocean has been his choice since Casino Royale in 2006."
Daniel Craig was selected as the sixth actor to play James Bond in 2005 and since then he has starred as 007 in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. In the latest movie, Bond's loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past returns to haunt her and 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

The faster, braver, deadlier and sexier Daniel Craig embarks on yet another thrilling adventure in Skyfall wearing his favourite Omega watches _ the steel-on-steel Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Omega Co-Axial Chronometer, whose design features can be traced directly back to the classic Seamasters of the 1950s; and the Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Co-Axial Calibre 8500.
"Not only Bond, but Bond girl Eve, played by Naomie Harris, also adorns her wrist with Omega Aqua Terra with a black dial, a stainless steel case and a matching bracelet; while Berenice Marlohe, who plays the glamorous, enigmatic Severine, wears Omega De Ville Prestige with a mother-of-pearl dial, a stainless steel case and a stainless steel bracelet," said Busara Tantiwarathaworn, Omega brand manager.
Like every Planet Ocean, the new 42mm Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Skyfall Limited Edition is ideal for any underwater adventure. This professional divers' watch comes with a brushed and polished stainless steel case and a matching patented screw-and-pin bracelet whose divers' clasp is engraved with 007. The rotating diving bezel is distinguished by its matt black ceramic ring with a chromium nitride diving scale.
The applied indexes on the matt structured black dial are coated with white Super-LumiNova emitting a blue light as are the polished, faceted rhodium-plated hands. The exception is the minute hand which emits a green light, as does the dot on the diving bezel. This feature makes it easy for divers to keep track of their time at a glance. At the 7 o'clock position is an 007 logo and at 3 o'clock there is a date window.
It is powered by an exclusive new Co-Axial calibre 8507. The movement is visible through sapphire crystal in the brushed screw-in caseback. Skyfall 007 is on its rotor in black-varnished engraving. The watch is also equipped with a Si14 silicon balance spring. The combination is so stable and reliable that the Planet Ocean comes with a full four-year warranty. The Skyfall wristwatch is being produced in an edition limited to 5,007 pieces and is delivered in a special presentation box.
