Approaching the festive season, a host of Holiday 2012 collections entice women to try out new shades and make-up styles to get gorgeous for Christmas and New Year celebrations.

French beauty camps Chanel and Lancome are both going for gold in their Christmas collections and party looks.

Chanel's evening make-up dazzles with gold-swept eyelids created with the Illusion D'Ombre shimmering eyeshadow and the Harmonie du Soir palette containing a golden bronze and three other complementing shades. The other key colour for this glamorous look is a reinterpretation of the emblematic rouge noir. A waterproof eyeliner in this deep red is used to define the golden eyes, while the velvet lipstick and coordinating nail polish provide an intense rouge noir for the seductive evening look.

Flamboyant red lips and fingertips are also seen in Lancome's girl with the golden eyes. Her eyelids sparkle with shades from the Ombre Hypnose Mono enriched with golden glints. Available in gold, silver and bronze, the limited edition eyeshadow appeals with a motif of delicate sequins. Double the dazzle on eyelids by adding Les Paillettes aux Yeux, a shimmering loose powder containing mother of pearl.

Lancome also collaborated with New York designer Andrew Yang, who created three dolls named Alyssa, Isabelle and Camille. Yang is famous for his fashion rag dolls, the Kouklitas, which are totally hand-crafted from mousseline trimmings.

These dolls became fashionistas dressed in haute-couture designs as Yang worked with leading fashion designers.

As a festive nod to the Christmas make-up collection, Lancome's Kouklitas don gold-sequinned jackets accessorised with the brand's emblematic rose. They are also setting make-up trends as you can get one of their looks: Porcelain Doll, Golden Doll or Star Doll.

For a Happy Dollidays, Lancome counters are transformed into a Doll Make-up Station, where you can get a makeover, a photo shoot and a beauty prescription to recreate the preferred doll look at home. A 4,000 baht purchase of Lancome products entitles you to get the doll look as well as a makeup box and a Kouklitas.

Pupa also presents some cute beauty toys as the Russian Puposka doll has been transformed into a makeup kit with four eyeshadows and lip glosses where as the Pierrot doll features eyeshadows, blusher and lip glosses.

The "dollised" make-up palettes come in four designs: Paris Touch, The Artist, Charleston and Masquerade.

Laneige Holiday 2012 Collection has Mr and Miss Right appearing in the packaging of the Holiday Art Play Eyeshadow. The characters were designed by American artists, Friend With You, whose concept was to remind people of their happy childhood, especially at Christmas time and the opening of presents.
