An earthquake registering 6.6 on the Richter scale hit north-central Myanmar on Sunday morning, the Thai Meteorological Department reported.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

Reports said the earthquake could be felt in Bangkok.

The department warned people of potential aftershocks.

Two 5.0-magnitude aftershocks already took place, according to reports.
