Events manager taps Myanmar market

Index Creative Village Co will beef up its Myanmar operations next year to capitalise on many events being planned.

Kreingkrai Kanjanapokin, a co-chief executive of Thailand's leading event management company, said 700 events are planned over three years.

These include the Southeast Asian Games next year, Myanmar's Asean chairmanship in 2014 and that country's plans for a tourism year in 2015.

Index Creative Village entered Myanmar in last year's second quarter through a 50:50 joint venture with the Yangon-based Forever Group to set up Myanmar Index Creative Village Co.

The company expects combined revenue of 50 million baht this year from from its Vietnamese and Myanmar operations and 150 million next year.

The group's total revenue this year is projected at 2.86 billion baht, up 38%.
