A man arrested in Kalasin province for stealing from a gold shop located near a police station has explained to police that he did it only because he was "possessed" at the time.
Posttoday.com reported on Wednesday that police on Tuesday apprehended Somsak Donkrasin, 35, for breaking into a gold shop and stealing two rings worth 26,000 baht. The stolen items were recovered by the police.
The shop is about 100 metres from a police station.
Mr Somsak, who is an amulet vendor, confessed that prior to the incident he was drinking alone inside his home and suddenly something took a hold of him. He did not remember anything after that until he had been arrested for breaking into the shop.
He has been charged with burlgary and theft.
