A three-year-old girl has been found sitting beside the body of her mother, who had been dead for three days, convinced she was just sleeping, Rat Burana police reported on Wednesday.
Police said they received a report about the girl's tragic deathwatch in a townhouse in Soi Pracha Uthit 44, Rat Burana district of Bangkok.
At the scene, they found Ornnadda Taisakulthong, 36, dead on her bed on the second floor. It appeared she had been dead about three days, according to a report on dailynews.com.
In the house, her three-year-old girl was still watching over her, believing that she was just having a long sleep. There was no sign of a break-in or that the room had been searched, police said.
The deceased's elder sister was the first person to find the body after she was told by the deceased's colleague that Ms Ornnadda had not showed up at work since Monday.
She told police that her sister had suffered from epilepsy since birth, so it might be the cause of death. She was separated from her husband and lived with her young daughter.
The little girl told her aunty that her mother gave her milk so she was not hungry and the mother also opened the door for her to get out of the house to see the aunty.
