Chalerm accuses media of bias (video)

A video clip of Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung arguing with a reporter during a press interview, accusing her of being uninformed and biased, is being circulated in several social media platforms.

He was talking about security details for handling the next Pitak Siam anti-government rally, scheduled to be held on Nov 24 at the Royal Plaza, Bangkok.

When questioned, the deputy prime minister in charge of security affairs blurted out that the media “sympathised” with the opposition Democrat Party, and that this was reflected in their questions and their messages to the public.

He accused a television reporter of having spent a lot of time in the opposition camp, saying that was why she was not up to date about how far the government has moved forward.

“I’m just saying that you sympathise with that party. There's is nothing wrong with that,” the deputy prime minister said.

“Sue me if you want, I didn’t say anything wrong” he added.

The video clip below, uploaded to YouTube by somchai hualhom, shows Mr Chalerm quarrelling with a reporter while giving an interview on Nov 15, 2012.
