Motorbike gang shooters arrested

Two gang members involved a wild motorcycle chase through Thonburi which ended in the deaths of three people and wounding of three others last week have been arrested and charged.

On Friday, Bangkok police announced the apprehension of Chettakorn Prasarnchaimontri, 23, and Warawut Po-kao, 25, and said a Glock 19 pistol used in the crime, with a clip of ammunition, was found with them.

Pol Maj Gen Jeerasak Khamkhong, deputy commander of Metropolitan Police Division 9, said the two men are  suspects in the wild pursuit that followed a dispute over the ownership of a motorcycle and that ended in three people being shot dead and three others injured on Nov 10.

They allegedly shot the victims after chasing them down on motorcycles along roads in Chom Thong and Thon Buri districts.

Police said the suspects confessed that they mistook the victims, who rode past on motorcycles, for another group of teenagers they had a fight with earlier that night in a restaurant.

Both men have now been charged with multiple murders.
