Iconoclastic chic

SOCIAL & LIFESTYLE

One of the top names in fashion with an artistic flair that never fails to delight fans, Jimmy Choo is launching its special collaborative capsule collection once again this year. And it looks to be one of the wildest takes, literally and metaphorically.

Gracing Jimmy Choo creative directors Sandra Choi and Simon Holloway's inspiration board this time round is none other than the one and only Rob Pruitt - the endearingly controversial artist who is credited for putting together Guggenheim Museum's First Annual Art Awards.

Known for his iconoclastic wit and visual exuberance, the Pruitt brand, the man and his work make a perfect platform for Jimmy Choo to devour his boundless creative energy and visual feasts. His unconventional use of prints and materials are translated into footwear, clutches and scarves of twisted glamour. Fetishistic laces marry zebra stripes. The dual personality of his "Angel Panda, Devil Panda" video mates eye-popping colours and leopard prints. Imaginative glitz is tweaked into playful and tongue-in-cheek sophistication. Check out the world of Rob Pruitt in Jimmy Choo's collection this month.

Available at the Jimmy Choo boutique, M floor, Siam Paragon, Tel 0-2610-9944.

DVF for Evian

Following in the footsteps of design goliaths such as Christian Lacroix, Jean Paul Gaultier, Issey Miyake and Paul Smith who have collaborated with mineral water establishment Evian, Diane von Furstenberg becomes the latest and first American designer to lend her creative flair to the ubiquitous bottles.

The 2013 limited edition bottle carries the designer's distinct handwriting. Von Furstenberg drew inspiration from her personal relationship with Evian water and her love of life, resulting in a unique design that combines Evian's commitment to purity with DVF's youthful and optimistic philosophy.

Available from November.

From New York, with love

It's a love letter from New York to London, from Coach to Harrods, as both stores celebrate the newly opened custom-made Coach Boutique inside the iconic shopping mecca. The new 1,460m2 store is located in the newly renovated Luxury and Designer Accessories Rooms on Harrods' lower-ground floor, and is housing the latest Legacy Collection, inspired by the best-loved pieces from the archives, plus an assortment of exclusive crocodile leather bags and wallets.
