Drug dealer injured fleeing police

An 18-year-old member of a drug gang severely injured herself when she jumped from a fourth floor apartment to escape arrest, police said.

On Wednesday, Pathum Thani police raided an apartment in tambon Klong Nueng of Khlong Luang district, acting on information from a drug suspect that it was used to store methamphetamines.

There were two men and a woman inside the apartment at the time and they attempted to flee when they saw the police. All three to leapt from the fourth floor to the ground outside. However one of them, 18-year-old Wipawi Khampibutr was seriously hurt when she hit the ground, and was found lying unconscious. She was taken to Thammasat Chalermprakeit Hospital.

The two men made good their escape. They were later identified as Nipon Krutpum, 38, and Thanakorn Impuang, 20. Arrest warrants have since been obtained for them and other accomplices.

The police team found 80 methamphetamine pills and some crystal meth in the apartment room.
