Foetus found in cemetery

LAMPANG: A technician told police he saw a man flee from a cemetery on a motorbike, leaving behind a foetus, posttoday.com reported on Monday.

The man, around 20 years old, was digging what looked like a grave, the technician said.

"When he saw me, he quickly ran to his bike and drove away, leaving the foetus wrapped in a white cloth on the ground," the technician said.

After an examination, a doctor said the foetus was three to four months old with the umbilical cord still attached.

Police believe a young couple conducted an abortion and were trying to dispose of the body at the graveyard.

The graveyard was located near many educational facilities and dorms.

Last Monday, a seven to eight-month-old foetus was found dead in a dumpster near Rajabhat University, also the result of an illegal abortion.
