Vipoo has been living and working in Australia for more than 15 years.
The project aims to address Thai and Australian expats' experiences of migration and cultural shifts, whilst promoting the importance of culture and the places we call home.
Besides a display of Vipoo's ceramic and mixed-media work, which reflects what he misses about Thailand while in Australia, the exhibition will also showcase small clay objects made by Australian expats and alumni, and local audiences who have been to Australia. The pieces have been created during a series of workshops led by Vipoo himself.
This exhibition follows a similar art showcase that took place in Sydney in June where Vipoo worked with Thai expats.
Vipoo has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Australia and around the world. His work features in many public collections, including the Shepparton Art Gallery, Victoria; Art Bank Australia, Melbourne; Tasmania Museum and Art Gallery, Tasmania; Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery, Queensland; The Art Gallery of South Australia and the National Gallery of Australia.
