Abused dog mauls owner's killer

A man was stabbed to death in a brawl outside a snooker bar in Bangkok early Thursday, and his dog then mauled his killer.

At a snooker bar in Soi Ladphrao 93 in Wang Thonglang area, the police found the  dead body of a 40-45 year-old man lying in a pool of blood. There were knife wounds on his neck and behind his left ear. The police later learned that the man was simply known by the locals as Keng, as reported by Daily News.

Not far off, another man, Sompob Abdularee, 45, was found  with blood spurting from his injured head and a severe injury to his left knee. A bloodied knife with a 5 inch blade also found at the scene.

There was also a dog known as Kafae standing and howling beside the dead body. Its neck was bleeding from a cut. Emergency workers took about 20 minutes to subdue it. The mutt was taken to a veterinary hospital afterward.

According to one of his friends, Sompob got into an argument with Keng who he had seen him kicking his own dog. Keng then hit him over the head with a dustpan, so Sompob pulled out a knife and slashed and stabbed him.

After seeing their owner fall, the dog then lunged at Sompob and started savaging him. In an attempt to break free, he swung the knife around, slashing the dog.

He is now faces a charge of murder and possibly animal cruelty.
