Revered abbot in hospital

NAKHON RATCHASIMA: The revered Buddhist monk Luang Phor Khoon Parisutho was rushed to hospital on Thursday evening with a high fever and vomiting.

The 90-year-old abbot of Ban Rai temple in Dan Khun Thot district was taken to Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital shortly after 5pm after he had vomited and appeared weak and quiet, said Somboon Sothianant, the monk’s close disciple.

Mr Somboon quoted doctors as saying that Luang Phor Khoon had bacterial pulmonary infection and had developed high temperature.

The revered monk, who is also known as Phra Thepwitthayakhom, underwent a procedure to insert a feeding tube into his abdomen and visitors were not being allowed to see him, he said.
