Divided loyalties and conflict take centre stage when 18 Monkeys Dance Theatre presents Muet at p.tendercool's PT Gallery with an original score by Dirk P Haubrich.

The show is one of the highlights of the International Dance Festival 2012.

Muet (Speechless) is a dance performance with characters from the Asian epic Ramayana. It focuses on a dilemma in the life of Monkey Kasorntamala, a soldier of King Rama, who is torn between being loyal to his master and fighting with best friend Mungkornkorn, whom he has taken a solemn oath with. Berlin-based Dirk P Haubrich has composed music exclusively for this season of performances. Haubrich, born in 1966 in Saarbrucken, Germany, has undertaken a four-year residence in London, studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, and has a love for dance and stage from working with the Frankfurt Ballet and Billy Forsythe in Eidos-Telos.

Muet will be staged on Saturday, Sunday and Dec 7-9 at 8pm at p.tendercool's PT Gallery, Charoen Krung Soi 30. Tickets cost 1,200 baht and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major booths (tel 02-262-3456). For more information, call 081-814-3304 or visit www.18monkeysdancetheatre.com
