Every year, you can be sure of a grand affair, during the festive season, at one of central Bangkok's premiere shopping malls, but none more illustrious than at Gaysorn Shopping Centre. For the last decade, they have been helping shoppers celebrate, find gift ideas and rewarding their patronage accordingly, in a fun and vibrant manner. Décor dangles from the ceiling in the atrium, with presents, tinsel, nutcrackers, presents and baubles on show, and everyone is getting into the Christmas and New Year spirit of giving.
This year is a special milestone for Gaysorn, as they mark their 10th anniversary with a celebration to top all previous promotions and year-end activities. The theme, this year, is Gaysorn's Most Wanted and is already in full swing! Launching the Gaysorn 10th Anniversary Celebration on 21st November 2012 was their Most Wanted Christmas Shopping Party, as a big Thankyou to their loyal shoppers, complete with red carpet and plenty of photo opportunities for the who's who of Bangkok and beyond. This exclusive party saw a host of activities, including the lighting of their 3-storey Christmas tree, live music from international acts and DJs, freeflow of food and drinks, extended late night shopping, a prize draw, the start of their Soi Dao prizes and the debut of their Most Wanted Sale of the Decade. The entire mall was turned into one hugely successful and festively featured party, from 7pm til late.
This year's events are a hint of things to come with the future of Gaysorn. A year of firsts, 2012 headlines the unprecedented inclusion of all Gaysorn brands in the colossal sale and all stores having started their sale at the same time, running from now until 5th January 2013, to ensure all shoppers have the best buys for the most exclusive prices, with up to 70% off, just in time before Christmas. Famous brands, both international and Thai, included in the Most Wanted Sale of the Decade range from Burberry to La Perla, Olivia Diamonds to Hugo Boss, Ferragamo to Tumi, and Kwanpen to Sretsis, to name but a few. The Most Wanted celebrates the holiday season with even more exclusive gifts and products available at Gaysorn.
For the man in your life, why not pick up some Ferragamo sunglasses, a pair of Prada brogues, a Louis Vuitton Tambour watch, a Montblanc smartphone holder, or Parrot Zik by Strack headphones from iStudio by Copperwired. If he travels extensively, then you could splurge on a Tumi wheeled suitcase or a stylish Boss hand-carry leather bag. For ladies, La Perlas lingerie makes a sexy, intimate statement, while a Miss Dior handbag, a Burberry clutch or bejewelled Prada purse will not go unappreciated. Be sure to get the right size for some Emilio Pucci slingbacks or Charlotte Olympia platform heels, or play it reassuringly safe with a Harry Winston timepiece. For a touch of whimsy, Louis Vuitton has a playful monogrammed dotted shoulderbag from Yayoi Kusama Collection and Ferragamo has some stunning printed scarves. For some creative and indulgent home gift ideas, head to Almeta and choose from Missoni cushions and towels, Cire Trvdon scented candles or Santa Maria Novella ambient room spray.
Leica, the camera brand, have also launched their first temporary store in Thailand at Gaysorn, on the ground level, and will move into a permanent space from August next year. Now is the perfect time to snap up some new photography equipment. Another first comes in the form of five exclusive pop-up stores spread around the mall, for added convenience for shoppers, to access these brands with ideal gift ideas. Qi Activated natural luxury products is located on the second floor, Lotus Arts de Vivre is facing the skylink entrance, Mettique offers small leather goods, Everest is displaying watches and Zsiska provides a range of accessories.
While shopping in this magnificent sale, with all the brands you could possible desire, for him, for her, for the home, for tech-freaks, shoe-aholics, bag-collectors or bling-lovers, you can also benefit from VISA credit card promotions, from five major banks, including Bangkok Bank, Krungsri Bank, Kasikorn Bank, SCB and UOB. Details can be obtained from the Gaysorn concierge, as to the specifics of each card's promotional offers and how much needs to be spent. Added bonuses include further discounts, money back, points and Krungsri even has a top spender bonus for purchases over 300,000 Baht, with the chance, for example, to get flights to the Maldives the perfect excuse to spend, spend, spend! This promotion, in conjunction with the RSTA (Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association) runs until 5th January 2013. Furthermore at Gaysorn, there is an enticing offer for holders of AMEX cards running parallel to the Most Wanted Sale of the Decade, until 21st December 2012. Privileges include up to 12,000 Baht worth of Gaysorn gift vouchers, but shoppers should check with the concierge for exact terms and conditions.
As always, to further reward shoppers, Gaysorn has their renowned Soi Dao prize draw, also until 21st December. This year more than 100 brands have donated around 4Million Baht worth of gifts, including the exclusive Gaysorn Gift Collection of products. The Gaysorn Gifts feature their popular umbrellas, 4GB thumbdrives, a candle set and a home ambient room spray, newly created together with Panpuri, called Cherished Moments, with rose, geranium and jasmine essential oils. Spend every 25,000 Baht and you have the chance to select one of the Soi Dao balls, each of which is guaranteed a win of some sort. Up for grabs are shoes, bags, jewellery, pipes and cigar cases, keychains, purses, scarves, ties, wallets and more. Whether Gaysorn Gift or store-branded product, no one walks away empty-handed, so rack up your credit card receipts and dive deep for your prize ball. For both Soi Dao prizes and credit card promotion redemption, a dedicated area has been set up in the Lobby Level, next to the brand new special temporary Hugo Boss store beside the escalator, in the atrium area.
Closing 2012, with such an epic occasion is a tangible warm-up to what the next ten years literally have in store for Gaysorn. They promise new brands, huge new stores, a restructuring of some of the floors, more restaurants, all making Gaysorn look better and fresher, offering up a new design experience within. However, never fear, Gaysorn will constantly remain open for business as usual, despite the exciting changes afoot. Tell-tale signs can already been seen with the opening of the new and chic-looking skylink from the skytrain skywalk, the first physical and noticeable improvement to the mall, more befitting of such a high-end shopping destination. We are reassured that this is just the beginning The new Gaysorn website (www.gaysorn.com) and Gaysorn Facebook page (www.facebook.com/gaysornshoppingcentre) have already been launched and you are assured to keep track and stay updated on all news and happenings to be revealed throughout the course of 2013. Gaysorn is gearing up and getting ready for a brand new decade and are hard at work, in cooperation with their retailers and tenants to bring the shoppers of Bangkok, even more glorious bang for their bucks at Gaysorn Shopping Centre.
