AIA names CBRE agent for office space sales

AIA Thailand has appointed CB Richard Ellis Thailand as the principal agent for leasing office space in AIA Capital Center and AIA Sathorn Tower, its first large property projects in this country.

They are AIA's first developments to feature office and retail components in the capital's prime business areas, with a total 92,500 square metres of lettable space.

"It sets a footstep for AIA to grow further and beyond our core business in life insurance," Ron van Oijen, AIA Thailand's chief executive, said at a contract-signing ceremony.

Located on Ratchadaphisek Road, AIA Capital Center will be a 35-storey office complex with a floor plate of 1,700 to 1,800 sq m, offering 54,000 sq m of premium grade A office space and almost 5,000 sq m of retail space for rent.

AIA Sathorn Tower will be a 28-storey grade A office on South Sathorn Road offering 38,500 sq m of office space for and a floor plate of 1,500 sq m.

The buildings are designed with a green concept and have attained Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design gold pre-certification from the US Green Building Council, said Nithipat Tongpun, executive director and head of office services at CBRE (Thailand).

He said both developments would feature column-free designs and the highest ceilings, at three metres, in the Bangkok office market. This ceiling height is perfect for tenants requiring raised floors.
