Supalai sets B25bn target

SET-listed property developer Supalai Plc plans to launch at least 17 new projects with an aim to boost sales to top 25 billion baht next year.

Managing director Atip Bijanonda said seven to eight new projects would be new condominiums in Phuket and Chiang Mai, while the remaining projects would be horizontal units.

Supalai also plans to expand into provincial markets, with target provinces including Surat Thani, Rayong, Udon Thani and Nakhon Ratchasima. Sales from provincial operations are expected to represent up to 25% of the company's sales, up from 20% this year.

According to Mr Atip, the company also expects next year to be able to finalise plans to invest in at least one project in the Asean region.

Supalai's sales in the fourth quarter are estimated at not less than 7 billion baht, boosting combined sales for the whole year to 22 billion baht, he said.

In November and December, the company is launching three new condominium projects _ Supalai Lite @ Sathorn-Charoenrat, Supalai Monte @ Viang Chiangmai and Supalai Elite @ Sathorn-Suan Plu.

The projects are expected to generate sales of more than 5 billion baht.

The company has a backlog worth more than 23 billion baht, two-thirds of which are condominiums.

"We are diversifying risk into the provincial market, but only in specific target provinces," Mr Atip said.

Supalai expects prices of houses and condominiums to rise by 5-10% next year in line with higher costs, particularly wages.
