Thai Beverage Public Co Ltd and Peerapong Music School present "A Piano Recital in Memory of HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana" performed by Steinway artist Poom Prommachart in the Small Hall of Thailand Cultural Centre on Dec 15 at 7pm.
Talented Thai pianist Poom Prommachart will give a tribute concert to HRH the late Princess Galyani at Thailand Cultural Centre’s Small Hall on Dec 15 at 7pm.
The evening programme will include Myaskovsky's Sonata No.2 in F-Sharp Minor, Schumann's Symphoniques Etudes, Vine's Toccatissimo (2011) and Ravel's Gaspard de la Nuit.
Poom graduated with a Bachelor of Music with Honours and Hopkinson gold medal from the Royal College of Music, London last year. He was granted a full scholarship by HRH the late Princess Galyani and the Royal College of Music, which enabled him to continue his studies in London.
The scholarship has been continued and supervised by the support of Thanpuying Tasna-Valaya Sorasongkram for his master's degree in performance at RCM. He is a student of the renowned Russian pianist Prof Dina Parakhina. The young Thai pianist has developed an international reputation of an outstanding performer of expressive depth and earned critical acclaim after his performance of Prokofiev's Second Piano Concerto in London.
Poom won first prize and two special prizes _ Piano Quintet Award and Audience Award _ at the 5th International Isidor Bajic Piano Competition in Serbia.
Poom has worked with many leading orchestras throughout Europe and Southeast Asia.
His concert engagements have also included many solo recitals.
