Making good on this summer's original announcement, Sony Pictures is moving forward with its Jumanji reboot. Zach Helm (Stranger Than Fiction) was hired to pen the script of the new adaptation of the Chris Van Allsburg novel published in 1981.
Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst played lead roles in the 1995 movie, directed by Joe Johnston, about two kids who are pulled into a high-octane adventure by a magical board game.
Meanwhile, Disney is said to be set on convincing Jesse Wigutow (Eragon) to take over the script of the sequel for Tron: Legacy (2011). Previous scriptwriters tied to the project include the Adam Horowitz-Adam Kitsis duo and David DiGilio.
Joseph Kosinski, the director of Tron: Legacy, is still in line to reprise his duties for the sequel, while Garrett Hedlund, Jeff Bridges and Olivia Wilde could also be back in their former roles.
