The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department on Wednesday issued a warning for people in the South to prepare for widespread scattered rain with heavy falls in some areas and the danger of floods from Dec 20-24.
People living near hillsides and waterways in Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat should prepare for possible flash floods and forest runoff, Chatchai Promlert, the department’s director general said.
