Korkaew released, to attend red rally

Just released from prison, Pheu Thai Party list MP Korkaew Pikulthong will attend a mass rally of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) to be held at the Bonanza hotel in Khao Yai in Pak Chong district of Nakhon Ratchasima on Saturday.

Mr Korkaew announced his plans after he was released today from a temporary prison, where he was being detained, under an order issued by the Criminal Court.

The release of Mr Korkaew followed a request by House deputy speaker Charoen Chankomol to allow him out to perform the duties of an MP when parliament reconvened in ordinary session today.

Mr Korkaew said he would be more careful with his speeches in future and strictly comply with the court's order and conditions of release.

The red-shirt MP's bail was was sent back to jail when parliament went into recess after the court revoked his bail for breaking bail conditions in speeches he made publicly.
